Dick Turner comes from a multi-dimensional universe made of different colors and perspectives. A different kind of dandy, he's a lunar poet, a starman, an art brut stunt-man. An adventurous musician, painter, film maker ...
Dick Turner works on instinct.
The Baltimore, MD, native has chosen voluntary exile to the City of Lights where as an musician, he fascinates his peers by a rare creativity. Drawing from different inspirational realms, as much from classical music as from Hank Williams or popular and pop art spheres, he assembles his collections of Popcycles, a glance at the classical song cycle.
Like the hundreds of multi-sized paintings filling his apartment, the drawers of his desk and folders of his computer disks overflow with these songs like rough diamonds; some of which have already been exposed during solo stage performances or when he was opening for Herman Düne or with his supergroups Schrödinger and more recently Traditional Monsters.
Quixotemusic went digging into his treasure chest to extract four songs that only scratch the surface of what's yet to explore.
